For four years, I’ve been a part of the Breakfasters on Triple R (102.7 FM). Triple R is a jewel in the Melbourne cultural landscape, supported by more than 10,000 subscribers who put up their hard-earned to ensure there’s at least one station on the air that’s not giving away mobile phones.

We have returned for another year of early rises, and already have proved
ourselves subeditors of the future with 'Dick's Whittington Flak' on the Cheney
shooting story and Fee's inspired 'wheat, heat and teat' headline for this pic.

The outside broadcast was terrific at the Corner Hotel last year. Trains went
past at a Blues Brothers-esque 'so often you won't even notice' rate of
regularity and I sang a song for Bec Hornsby, to thank her for seven years of
muscial direction in the office at Triple R.

As I recall, she's always been a big Peter Allen fan. So often I'd walk in on
her in listening sessions and just catch her playing a few snatches of 'Quiet
Please, There's a Lady on Stage' or 'Tenterfield Saddler' So this was for her.
