For four years, I’ve been a part of the Breakfasters on Triple R (102.7 FM). Triple R is a jewel in the Melbourne cultural landscape, supported by more than 10,000 subscribers who put up their hard-earned to ensure there’s at least one station on the air that’s not giving away mobile phones.

Bra Boys

When extreme surf legends Sunny and Koby Abberton visited our East Brunswick studios to promote their documentary ‘Bra Boys’, Sam and I showed them our special ‘Brekky Boys’ handshake. Quickly we realised that our handshake was exactly the same as theirs, so we immediately sent them a cease and desist letter, ordering the Bra Boys to respect our intellectual property and to find a new handshake.

In the end, the matter was settled amicably, with Sam and I surviving being set on fire and falling thirty metres off a cliff and into the ocean.

‘Bra Boys’ is a great film, and is now the highest grossing non-IMAX documentary in Australian history,

Ink. One tactic used by the Bra Boys against the Brekky Boys in the legal battle over the handshake.
