For four years, I’ve been a part of the Breakfasters on Triple R (102.7 FM). Triple R is a jewel in the Melbourne cultural landscape, supported by more than 10,000 subscribers who put up their hard-earned to ensure there’s at least one station on the air that’s not giving away mobile phones.

Sam Pang asked listeners to call in with stories of famous actors who passed on or just missed out on an iconic role. A caller told us that Patrick Swayze was not the studio’s first man to screen test alongside Demi Moore in ‘Ghost’. The star who turned them down? None other than our own Paul Hogan, then at the peak of his powers.
