After weeks of nagging Fee to play the ‘Ghost and Mrs Muir’ theme, I finally had a breakthrough this morning. The moment those jaunty, ‘ahoy there me matey’ opening bars started to sound, I realised that the lobbying had been worth it. We are all stronger for having heard it.

It did however get me thinking. Did Mrs Muir ever get it on with the ghost? Was this a precursor to the ultimate ghost ‘making out’ scene between Demi and Patrick in ‘Ghost’? Or did the ghost and Mrs Muir just get up to domestic misadventures, with the old sea captain bitching about the temperature of the tea and so forth?

As Sam mentioned today, Tony Biggs of ‘On the Blower’ went on the record as saying he wasn’t so much of a ‘Ghost and Mrs Muir fan’, being much more partial to the delightful whimsy of ‘Nanny and the Professor’.

By the way, I want this album.
